Ernest Lee Morgan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the age of 88.
On Thursday, January 25, 1934 in Alberta, Alabama, Ernest was born to the late Clifford Morgan and the late Linnie Laura Champion Morgan.
Ernest spent his younger years in service to his country as a Corporal in the United States Army. Later he would go to work for Sears & Roebuck for 25 years. Ernest would end his working career as a jack of all trades for W.O. Bearden Nursery in Plantersville. Ernest was a longtime member of Elkdale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Lamar Morgan, Lisa Morgan, Greg Lenoir (Mary), Connie Longcrier (Michael), and George Lenoir; grandson, Allen Ross; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death his first wife, Bonnie Morgan; his second wife, Edna Lenoir; his parents, Clifford and Linnie Laura Morgan; and his siblings, Alex Morgan, Noah Morgan, Libby Bradford, and Linnie "Sis" Baugh.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 until 10:45 at the Selma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Edmonds, David Summers, Tim White, Trey Cross, Daniel Longcrier, and Greg Lenoir.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Elkdale Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the kind and compassionate care shown to Ernest by Kayla Vardaman and Amy Harris Messer with Southern Care Hospice.
