Wynema B. Jennings made her transition to her Heavenly home and into the arms of her Savior on October 8, 2020. Born on December 13, 1932, she was the only daughter of Edward and Maude Buchanan who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Danny Jennings (Rita) and a daughter Brenda Jennings Bowie (Daniel). She was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Jamie Bowie Stephens (Scott), Laurie Bowie Covan (Danny), Mallory Jennings (Laura), and Daniel Jennings (Kathryn). She treasured her 5 great grandchildren, Lindsey, Lauren, Leah, Anna Beth and Jackson.
Mrs. Jennings completed her training as a hair stylist in 1956 at Central Texas Beauty College in Austin, Texas. After graduation, she opened her own salon which was quite an accomplishment for a woman at that time in history. Her family moved to Selma, AL in the 1960's where she opened another salon, Coiffures by Wynema. It was known for being one of the best salons in Selma.
She was recognized by evangelist, James Robinson, as a woman of faith that used her calling as a hair stylist to spread the good news of Jesus. She studied the scriptures and took classes to further her understanding of God's word throughout her life.
Mrs. Jennings loved Northside Baptist Church and worked tirelessly teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. She loved her "girls" in her Sunday School Class and they loved her.
Well done, thy good and faithful servant.
