Wanda Gail Edwards, age 52, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away January 9, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Edwards; granddaughter, Lacy Danielle Traywick; grandmothers, Gertie Oglesby and Paralee Edwards and grandfathers, Herman Littlejohn and William Edwards.
Surviving are her mother, Annetta Sexton; long-time companion, Joe Harris Bennett; sons, William Preston Traywick and Steven B. (Selena) Traywick; daughters, Crystal Gail Averette (Tommy) and Amy Bennett ; sister, Weida Sheehan; grandchildren, Jeffery Childress, Brittany Childress, Jarrette Dakota Traywick, Devin Lane Headley, Hailey Bennett, Shawn Russell, Sierra Chisom and Crystal Danielle Chisom; loving nieces and nephews, Felisha Williams, Wesley Friday, Christopher Friday, Destiny Friday, Drew Smitherman and Michael Williams.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Judge Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Chris Friday, Tommy Chisom, Jay Williams, Donnie Sheehan, Wilbur Sanders and Franklin Bennett.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved country living. She was a very compassionate and understanding friend. She also loved to shop and was very thrifty.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718.
