Sylvia Ann Cook, age 71, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Warren Manor Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A. J. and Arbelle Early; her sisters, Jean Jeffrey, Betty Jo Weinbaun and brother, Jim Doyle Early.
Surviving are her devoted husband of 51 years, Awford Cook; son, Clay Cook and wife Sara; daughter, Greta and husband, Mark Jones; brother, Kenneth Early and wife Melba; much adored grandchildren, Holly Jones and Jackson Jones and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Fancher and Douglas Coates officiating and special family member, Jack Burkett will also speak. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tim Wooten, Steve Reid, Mike Early, Paul Sturdivant, Bobby Roseberry and Tim White.
The family would like to offer special thanks for those caring for Sylvia over the last few years in such a special way: Dr. Boyd Bailey, Dr. Flores and staff, Dr. Fahoum, Gloria Blevins, Tonyetta Jones, Carolyn Jones, Elijah Manuel, Stevie, Loretta and Carrie and the rest of the staff of Warren Manor Nursing Home.
