Shirley Baggett

Shirley Piper Baggett, age 73, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away January 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odis and Nell Watters; brothers, Richard, Clarence "Toota", and Raymond "Bubba" Piper; grandson, Cody Pope; great-granddaughter, Ivie Johnson and nephew, Gordon Piper. Surviving are her children, Linda Fortune, Claye (Howard) Pope and Odis (Christy) Baggett; brother, Henry "Tubby" (Ruby) Piper; sister-in-law, Harriet Piper; grandchildren, Casey (Chad) Dunaway, Camryn Baggett, Christian Baggett, Sheree Prater, Dale "Rooster" (Heidi) Pope. Kelly Jo (Shon) Brackin and Katie Pope; great-grandchildren, Caleb Prater, Hunter Broxton, Heath Prater, Kaliyah Pope, Gabe Brackin, and Katie Jo Brackin; numerous nieces and nephews; very special friend, Dottie Bennett and her fur baby, Oscar. Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with Bro. Larry Stover officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chad Dunaway, Logan Grindle, JoJo Piper, Justin Forman, Gregg Piper and Ryan Piper. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Piper. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Praise Park Ministries Church of the Nazarene, 1 Big Pine Drive, Valley Grande, AL 36701.
