Robert Dale Averette

Robert Dale Averette, the husband of Loretta Smith Averette of Maplesville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the age of 58.

He was born in Selma on April 3, 1964 to the late Irby C. Averette and Margaret Ruby Langford Averette.

He was a man of many talents including farming, mechanic, factory worker, construction worker, plumbing, electrician, and lastly a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Smith Averette; mother, Margaret Averette; 9 children; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-children, Gabrielle Jones (Robert Bratcher), Heather Hicks (Chris), and Jake Jones (Emily); 3 step-grandchildren, Dalton Jones , Bo Bratcher, and Benji Bratcher; siblings, Theresa Runnels (Scot), Christine Chappelle (Michale), Sherry Bennett (Gray), Jeannie Averette, and Michale Averette (Angelina); special nephew, Dewayne Averette; and many other numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father; 3 children, and siblings, Doris Champion and Marlene Quigley.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Shane D. Ogle officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
