Melody Amelia Davis, age 59 of Valley Grande passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her home. She was born in Selma, Alabama on February 17, 1960 to Arthur and Ruby Day.
She is survived by her sisters, BJ (Gil) Thistrup, Patsy (Ted) Hicks, and Clara Day; sister-in-law, Donna Day; nieces, Angie (Darrell) Cooper, Heather Martin (Joe West); nephews, George (Hieu) Thistrup, Edward Day, and Ben (Jessica) Hicks; great-nieces, Kallie Martin, Bella Martin, and Lorelai Hicks; great-nephews, Clint (Hannah) Cooper, Dillan (Lori) Cooper, Cooper Martin, Waylon Hicks, Bryson Thistrup, and Kai Thistrup; and great-great- nieces, Emma Kate Cooper, Dayleigh Cooper, and Sarah Clinton Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Ronnie Davis; parents, Arthur and Ruby Day; brother, Art Day; niece, Jennifer Day; and great-great-niece, Chloe Ann Cooper
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Southern Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2019 one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
A private burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be George Thistrup, Edward Day, Ben Hicks, Clint Cooper, Dillan Cooper, and Bryson Thistrup.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gil Thistrup, Ted Hicks, John Coon, Noel Cooper, and Darrell Cooper.
