Maxine McDonald age 83 of Selma, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, AL.

She was born February 11, 1938 in Lincoln, Alabama to the late Robert and Lona O'Banion.

She was a real estate agent. Maxine was also a longtime member of the Elkdale Baptist Church, where she was in the Joy Sunday School Class and a member of the Elkdale Garden Club.

She is survived by her children, James Lewis McDonald (Ginny) and Kelly McDonald Stone (Wayne); grandchildren, Deborah Alley (Jason), Amy Mason (Jeremy), and Suzanne Ray (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Bailey McDonald, Brandon McDonald. Oscar Higginbotham, and Maggie Mason; and great-great-grandchildren, Phoebe Jones and Molly Roberts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lona O'Banion; husband, James McDonald; son, Jeffrey Clark McDonald; and brother, Jerome Mayfield.

A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande with Shane D. Ogle officiating.
