Lucille Christine Stokes Yarbrough

Lucille "Lucy" Christine Stokes Yarbrough of Bessemer and formerly of Selma, passed away at the Oaks on Parkwood in Bessemer on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the age of 81.

She was born in Mississippi on September 28, 1942 to the late Everett Troy Stokes and the late Hilda Mae Nichols Stokes. 

She was the former front end manager with Winn-Dixie here in Selma. 

She leaves behind her son, Michael Yarbrough (Michelle); grandchildren; Angela Jones and Sam Yarbrough; great-grandchildren, Harrison Jones and Hudson Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Yarbrough; her parents; and siblings, Troy O. Stokes, Joe Ed Stokes, and Tommy E. Stokes. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home Bro. Randy DeBrabant officiating.

Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.

Pallbearers will be her family members. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
