Joseph Wayne Little was granted his angel wings on January 24th, 2022. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that adored Wayne as he adored them.
Wayne lived a full life enjoying the little things that many would only dream of experiencing. He appreciated each conversation, each visit and always looked at the positiveness of what life offered. His gentle smile, encouraging words and boundless support echoed through all he met. He was, indeed, larger than life but humble to everyone. He understood the hardships that could befall and was there to support everyone, not only family. He was very patriotic, serving his country and fellow man.
Although the last years of his life were a struggle, he gave us all such courage and hope, often reminding us of the preciousness of life. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, reading, carpentry, cooking and attending church. Most of all, he enjoyed time. Time spent with his family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Mae Moore, who was also his best friend.
Wayne is survived by his most loving wife, Shirley Little; brother Jerry Little (wife Marlene), Steve (wife Laura) Moore, Buddy Moore (wife Dana); sons Robert Little (wife Joni), Gary Little (wife Nancy) and Gregory Cook; daughters Tonya Nichols (husband Brian) and Wendy Brown, Honorary daughter Dyan Fluty (husband Steve); grandchildren Blake Little (wife Caroline), Trey Little (Denise), Emily Little (husband Dr. Rushabh Dev), Katy Neal (husband Tanner), Maty Little, Justin Cook, David Nichols (wife Alison), Dorian Brown (fiancé Priscilla), Haley (Turtle) Barton (husband Ben), Ariel Brown, Kourtney Brown and Brielle Butler; great grandchildren Elizabeth Cook, Spencer Nichols, Suraiya Brown, Branson Little, Connor Little, Hunter Little, Tiger Little, Tatum Little and unborn baby girl Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Chandler officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Wayne will be laid to rest at Pineview Memory Gardens, there will be no graveside service.
Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to the care of Selma Funeral Home.
