Dorothy Dell Barlow, age 93, long time resident of Selma, AL, passed away December 18, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, John B. Barlow; parents, Thomas and Pennie Hollingsworth; son and daughter-in-law, John A. and Linda Barlow; sons-in law, Glenn Duchesney and Frank Mowery; siblings, Kate Harrison, Lois Fleming, Bobby Nasary and Thomas W. Hollingsworth and great-grandchild, Lindsey Knoff Jordan.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (Dempsey) Blackmon, David (Anita) Barlow, George W. (Linda) Barlow, Roy L. Barlow, Rlinda Duchesney and Gloria Mowery; sister, Helen Hayes; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with Tom McLemore officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Randall Blackmon, Russell Blackmon, Robert Blackmon, Tony Barlow, Richard Lovell, Alan Seifert and Jason Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Earnest Tate, Curtis Thornton, Ken Harris, Darryl Thornton, Ron Howard, Scott Brady, Buddy Jones, Ronald Gill and McClain Pitts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Houston Park Church of Christ, 2 Crescent Hill Drive, Selma, AL, 36701.
The family would like to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Oxford Health for the wonderful care they provided.
