Cecil Messer Sr.

Cecil "Zeke" James Messer Sr., age 78, of Selma, AL, passed away October 6, 2018.
He worked for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for 45 years as a Surveyor and a Lock and Dam Operator.
He is preceded in death by his wife of thirty-seven years, Patricia Mitchell Messer; parents, Charles and Thelma Messer; siblings, Charles Messer, Curtis Messer, Carlton Messer, and Margaret Messer Sitek.
He is survived by his son, Cecil "Jimmy" James Messer Jr.; daughter, Melissa (Preston) Messer Jinright; grandchildren, Holt Elijah and Hudson Jinright; brother, Clyde (Shirley) Messer; sisters, Mary (Morris) Holder, Sarah Gomez, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John Gallups officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 5 p.m - 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Holt Elijah, Mark Holder, Dwight Jinright, Corey Stockdale, and John Briggs.
Honorary pallbearer will be Kyle Messer.
