Calvin Strickland

Mr. Calvin Strickland age 92 of Valley Grande, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Colonial Haven Health and Rehab in Greensboro. he was born in Mobile on August 5, 1928 to the late Robert L. Strickland and the late Maggie Mott Strickland.
He was retired Medic with the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his children, Linda Strickland, Becky Nichols, Brad Strickland, Jimmy Strickland (Lynn), and Mary Ann Cates; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fain Strickland; wife, Verna Swindle Strickland; parents, Robert Strickland and Maggie Mott Strickland; and grandson, David Strickland.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Sunday at Pisgah Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Brad Strickland, Jimmy Strickland, Bradley Strickland, Paul Nichols, Allen Mott, and Kyle Carter.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and Mr. Calvin's sitters; Asia Howard, Annie Robertson, Lucy Taylor, Emanuel Taylor, and Regina Smith.
