William Glenwood "Buddy" Bennett, Jr. passed away August 9, 2019 at the age of 82.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Glenwood Bennett, Sr. and his mother, Emma Bell Williams Bennett; daughters, Carolyn Godwin and Carol Lynn Bennett; sisters, Sara Redd, Edna Driver and Brenda Hisel; brothers, James Leonard Bennett, Eugene Bennett, Joe Bennett and Franklin Bennett.
He is survived by his children, Sharon Bennett Callahan, Diane Bennett Snow and Dawn Bennett Sharpe; brothers, Billy (Dorothy) Bennett, Robert Bennett, Johnny (Ann) Bennett; sisters; Janet (Howell) Stone, Julia Hughey, Shirley (Robert) Stone, Burnice (Richard) Turner, Connie (Jackie) Phillips; grandchildren, James Bennett, Tori Nirva, Shay Callahan, Erin Ingram, Emily Ingram, Pearson Sharpe, Camille Sharpe and Chikita Meigs; great grandchildren, Beck Nirva, Nora Nirva and Michelle Meigs.
Buddy's family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association of America 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor New York, NY 10001, The Selma Humane Society 206 Medical Center Pkwy, Selma, AL or your favorite charity.
