Sara Friday

Sara Cox Friday, age 86, of Selma, AL, passed away January 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Friday; parents, U. J. and Edith Cox; brother, Noah Cox and sisters, Minnie Lee Hand and Nettie Grace Godwin. Surviving are her children, Urban Claude (Kay) Friday, Thomas Collie (Dyan) Friday; special niece, Susan H. (Buddy) Alsbrook; grandchildren, Eric Jeston (Jennifer) Friday, Stephanie Friday (Donald) Oliver, Heather Friday (Joseph) Boone, Anthony Duane (Carrie) Friday, Chad Michael (Rachel) Friday and Alston Alsbrook; great-grandchildren, Turner, Savannah, Anna Cate, Delaney, Ansleigh and Addisyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Light and Rev. Guy Anderson officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Eric Friday, Anthony Friday, Chad Friday, Alston Alsbrook, Joey Boone and Don Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Turner Friday, Mattison "Bo" Barnes, Jr., Noah Barnes and John Barnes.
