Omie Huett

February 2, 1930 — January 14, 2021

Omie Jean Clibrey Huett was our Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, and friend. She was born on February 2, 1930, in Selma, Alabama, and was carried into the arms of Jesus on January 14, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her parents: James T. Wimberly and Velma Frith Wimberly; Father, James Fredrick Clibrey; Siblings, William E. Clibrey and Earnest L. Clibrey. Husband, William Wesley Huett, Sr. and Son, William Wesley Huett, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Robert E. Huett of Mobile, AL., Daughter-in-law, Denise Huett of Mobile, AL.; Brother, Alan (Kathy) Wimberly of Madison, MS.; Sister, Cheryl (Roland) Maxwell of Grand Bay, AL. Grandchildren; Matthew (Stacey) Huett of Mobile, AL and Clifton Huett of Mobile, AL.; Great-grandchildren; Lily and Dexter Huett of Mobile, AL. And Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Jean was known by many names: Jean-o, T.T., Omie Jean, Aunt T.T., Aunt Jean - but the names closest to her heart were "Love", "Mother", and "MawMaw". She was a gracious Southern lady, known for her hospitality, sense of humor, love of family, and, of course, her Southern accent! She spent a small fraction of her life working outside the home. Her legacy was made in being the best wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother she could be. Family was first in all things for her. In her later years her grandchildren, Matthew and Clifton, and great-grandchildren, Lily and Dexter, were the sunshine in her life. Her mother was her forever best friend. We are blessed to have the assurance that they are together once again arm in arm in a glorious mansion. Wesley was her first and always true love. Losing him and her first born son, Bill, left a hole in her heart that has now been made whole again. We are all thankful for that blessing. While we mourn her absence on earth, we rejoice her presence in heaven surrounded by so many loved ones.
A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at New Live Oak with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating.
Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to Selma Funeral Home.
