Katherine Chappelle

Delilah Katherine Willis Chappelle died peacefully on October 12, 2015 in Alabaster, Alabama at the age of 85. Katherine was born on March 21, 1930 in Selma, AL to Jessie Alphonso and Vesta Moore Willis. Katherine is survived by her children, Teresa McCurdy Riddle (Larry), Pelham, AL, Norman Odell McCurdy (Barbara), Kennedy, AL, Jacqueline Chappelle Mims (Rick), Jemison, AL, and stepson, David Luverne Chappelle (Beverly), Summerfield, FL; sisters, Sibyl Willis McLean, Selma, AL; Vivian Willis Hollis (Robert), Navarre, FL; Esther Willis Chappelle (Ulysses), Selma, AL; and a brother, James Willis (Henrietta), Stockton, CA. She is survived by grandchildren, Jarrod David Nichols, Cahaba Heights, AL, Sandra McCurdy Hauser, Princeton, TX, Rebecca Nicole Boman, Huntsville, AL, Richard Eugene Mims, Alpine, AL, Brooke Lorrell Kaiser, Alabaster, AL, Norman Heath McCurdy, Jasper, AL, Tonya Katherine Mims, Jemison, AL, ReAnna Westbrook Chappelle , Selma, AL, and Ramona Renea Chappelle, Plantersville, AL; step grandsons, Christopher Brian Riddle, Hoover, AL, David Luverne Chappelle, Jr., John Darron Chappelle, Stephen Eric Chappelle, and Shannon Chappelle; step-granddaughters, Dina Carter Berutti, Aromas, CA and Kristi Carter, Belton, TX; eight great- grandchildren and a host cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Vesta Moore Willis; husband, Chester David Chappelle; daughter, Vesta Chappelle Smith; stepdaughter, Linda Chappelle Carter and her brother, J. D. Willis. A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Selma Funeral Home and burial at Pineview Memory Gardens in Selma, AL. Visitation/viewing begins at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Katherine Chappelle's life.
