He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Ferges, parents, George and Leona Ferges and a sister, Aileen Ashman. Surviving are his son, William (Patricia) Ferges of Spanish Fort, AL; sister, Betty Ford of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Lance (Jane) Ferges of Vernon Hills, IL and Stacy (Jason) Rutherford of Roswell, GA and one great-grandchild, Lauren Rutherford. Graveside services will be Monday, June 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy., Mobile, AL 36605 with Rev. Dr. Julian Walthall officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Selma Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. Mr. Ferges was a chief engine man in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and served 20 years in the military. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Barrett Road Methodist Church, 615 Barrett Road, Selma, AL 36701 or Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, 6620 Spanish Fort Blvd., Spanish Fort, AL 36527.
