Alma Christine "Scrap" Suttles Hatfield, age 98, of Selma, AL, passed away November 5, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Hatfield; parents, Willie W. and Lillie B. Suttles; brother, Sam Suttles and sisters, Mary Jane Mott, Susie "Coot" Nichols, Pearl Garner and Ella Suttles. She is survived by her son, W. Forrest (Cynthia) Hatfield; daughter, Pat. (Keith) Lewis; grandchildren, Bill (Paige) Lewis, Christine (David) Moss and Kristian (Tim) Kirchner; great-grandchildren, Nicole Lewis, Jacob Lewis and Savanah Kirchner and close friends, Judy Saranthas and Mary McCord. Funeral services will be Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Linda Tarver officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 2-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hatfield, Ronnie Sawyer, Mason Harris, Tim Kirchner, David Moss and Larry Lewis. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Frost. Mrs. Hatfield was a lifetime member of West Highland United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on various committees. She was also a member of the Selma Lioness Club. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Park Place Nursing Home for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to West Highland United Methodist Church, c/o Ruth Lewis, 2203 West Dallas Avenue, Selma, AL, 36701.
