Aline Ivie

March 23, 1925 — December 31, 2015

Zella Aline Stubblefield Jones Ivie, a long-time resident of Cedar Drive in Selma, died of natural causes Thursday the 31st of December at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Born March 23, 1925 in Fayette, Aline was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was one of those people who saw the brighter side of life and easily made friends where ever she went. Her reassuring smile always made the day better as did her wonderful Southern cooking. Aline's cakes, pies, peanut butter balls and chicken n' dumplings were wonderful delights, treasured along with the many moments she gave to us. Aline worked mostly in retail, notably as the clerk for many years at Pickering's Grocery on Hwy 80. Aline was also the concession manager at the 80 Drive-In Theatre that her husband, Jack, managed. Aline loved good food, gardening and spending time with friends and family. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room, yet she was fiercely tough at the same time. They just don't make them like her anymore. Aline was proceeded in death by her husband, Ernest "Jack" Jones Jr., her son, Marvin Lee "Bama" Jones, and her second husband, Allen Murray Ivie. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Jack) Teefal, of Englewood, FL and her son, Martin Wayne Jones of Tuscaloosa. Aline was lovingly referred to as Nanny by six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild who all brought great joy to her many years. Visitation will be Saturday, January 2nd from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Selma Funeral Home. Funeral services will be in the chapel at 11:00 am with Guy Anderson of Elkdale Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens cemetery.
